New Wines at Macadoodles

Arkansas may have the Razorbacks….but Macadoodles has Bourgeois Pig!

[This blog was written by Karl Calini owner of Bourgeois Pig] – Bourgeois Pig wines are brought to us by two local guys:  Karl Calini, a Southern French native, and Jerry Kenefake, a Kansas City native. Karl and Jerry’s goal is to offer great wine of exceptional quality that can be enjoyed daily, as the French do. Using some of the finest grapes from the South of France, each bottle will bring you the tastes of the region, pleasing even the most discriminating wine connoisseur. The taste will surely impress your upper-class Bourgeois (“BOOZ-jwa”) guests, as the price will still let you go HOG WILD…. Enjoy, and as the Bourgeois Pig triumphantly says, “Let them drink wine!”  - Karl Calini

Volére “Wine Couture” has arrived at Macadoodles Pineville!

Volére Pinot Grigio

A charming white wine with a bouquet of white flowers, green apples and peach and delightfully crisp flavors of apple and white pear that lead to a long elegant finish.

Volére Rose

An elegant Rose produced from select grape varieties indigenous to the spectacular Veneto Hills. An intense bouquet of wild strawberry, raspberry and rose petals mingle with complex flavors of freshly picked red berries on the palate.

Volére Merlot/Pinot Noir

A silky, vibrant red showcasing complex notes of red berry, cherry and currant, with a hint of vanilla, that leads to a long, stylish finish.

Grand Veneur Cotes Du Rhone Rose

The wine is a saignee from the Cotes du Rhone Rouge, made from 60% Grenache, 20% Syrah, 20% Cinsault. The grapes are grown on clay and limestone soil. This delicious rosé displays a medium salmon hue and aromas of fresh cherry and strawberry. It is a nicely balanced wine with purity, intense fruit flavor, good acidity and a crisp dry finish. Straightforward and pleasant, with hints of herbs and pepper.

Jean Reverdy et fils La Reine Blanch Sancerre

100% Sauvignon Blanc
Single vineyard. Vinification: cold fermentation in stainless steel tank, no oak, no malolactic fermentation. Sweet, fruity and clean. White flowers (acacia, jasmine) and citrus fruits aromas. Perfectly balanced. A delicious wine, perfect with fish dishes, especially salmon, and a local goat cheese Crottin de Chavignol.  (Although…we do carry goat cheese at Macadoodles!)

Plaza Real Sangria

Salud! A toast to Mexico, South America and Spain. Americans love to raise a glass when enjoying Latin cuisine. Plaza Real Sangria is authentic, affordable Spanish Sangria that beats the heat of warmer months and spicy dishes. It is a great value for sipping in spring and summer as it has an aromatic blend of citrus fruits and wild berries!

Flavor Profile: Sweet, slightly sour
Sangria Description: Fresh, smooth and sweet, with balanced acidity
Serving Suggestion: Chilled–mix with ice, fruit juices, soda water

Be. Fresh

(Chardonnay) Each sip starts with a politely pleasant murmur that unfolds into an invigorating, crisp green apple splash that awakens your senses and revives your spirit. This fortuitous flavor is perfectly complemented by hints of citrus reminding you of the delicious magic of a budding romance, new adventure or simple twist of fate.

Be. Radiant

(Riesling) The tempo is set for excitement with tantalizing fruit that boasts a marvelously magnetic appeal. Once your palate is captured by this zest for life, it is complemented by bright floral notes and whispers of sweetness that linger like that perfect evening that still floods your daydreams with sly smiles.

Be. Flirty

(Pink Moscato) This tastefully gregarious gem is decked out and ready to get noticed with its playfully pink color. Its sweet berry flavors allure your palate with a friendly approach that mesmerizes as delicate notes dance to the playlist of fun rotating ’round a shiny disco ball in your head.

Bogle Essential Red

A compelling blend of California’s finest plantings of Old Vine Zinfandel, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petite Sirah, this wine surpasses all expectation for pure enjoyment and approachability. Calling on their years of experience and tradition, Bogle winemakers have delivered a wine with…

RICH, enticing layers of complexity, starting with that firstirresistible sip.
RIPE fruit, intense with flavors of boysenberries and sweet cherries.
LUSCIOUS vanilla, caressing the palate from barrel aging in American and French oak.
JUICY and silky throughout, with a finish that lingers of black licorice and spicy pipe tobacco.

Herman Story Wines Are Here!

2010 Tomboy
79% Viognier, 29% Roussanne

301 Cases Made

The 2010 Tomboy is that really amazing day or two that you spent with your friend’s friend who was passing through town. Your friend was too busy to entertain, so he passed her into your care for the weekend. She was from a big city, savvy and exciting, but with an infectious laugh that put you at ease. The two of you hit it off, but she moved on and you never saw her again. The 2010 Tomboy is how you remember those few short days. Scents of pretty white flowers, lemon verbena, cinnamon, clementines, wet sidewalks and pink peppercorns. The palate has all the richness of those warm summer evenings and the subtleties of white tea, almond oil, laurel leaves and a cool, quartz-like minerality. Truly a wine to bring you back.  (DRINK NOW: 1-2 hour decant, CELLAR: 5 years)

2010 Nuts And Bolts
100% Syrah

792 cases made

You know that old saying about the blind men and the elephant? About how one guy is touching the trunk of the elephant and thinks it’s a snake and the other guy is touching a leg and thinks it’s a tree? But because neither of them can “see” the whole animal they don’t know what it is? Well Nuts & Bolts always reminds me of that. There’s something about taking little pieces of a lot of different vineyards from Santa Barbara County to Paso Robles, that tells you more about the vintage in an instant than any single vineyard wine could. Nuts & Bolts is kind of like being able to see the whole elephant in that way, and this year is no different. The 2010 Nuts & Bolts has the intensity and intrigue I think 2010 will be known for. It smells like a highclass picnic in a redwood forest: smoked ribs, red velvet cake, chocolate covered cherries, cologne, caraway, violets and olive. The palate takes you on a hike deep into the forest, with juniper berries, black tea, red licorice and rich tannins that hit you like a bear attack.

Cousino-Macul Merlot

This wine has a red ruby color with purple tones. It’s a young and fresh wine with a soft nose that reminds us of and black plums with a hint of spicy notes. In mouth it presents soft and balanced tannins, aligned to the fruitiness that characterizes this wine.

Novy Four Mile Creek Red

Syrah, zinfandel, grenache, nebbiolo and viognier are blended into Novy Family Wines’ Four Mile Creek, a cherry and spice concoction that is one of those surprises that gets better with each sip.

Hugues Beaulieu Picpoul de Pinet

Pale yellow color with green tints. Fresh and fine aromas of grapefruit and exotic fruit. Lime flavors, with typical focusing acidity, are hallmarks of Picpoul. Our best value, this wine impresses novices and hardened geeks equally.  Known as ‘the Muscadet of the South’ in France, this is to the Mediterranean coast of France what Albarino is to northwest Spain-the default wine for fresh shellfish & seafood.

Hunky Dory Sauvignon Blanc

Hunky Dory Sauvignon Blanc is a succulent Marlborough style of wine offering tropical fruit notes packed with fresh gooseberry flavours. This wine has a full flavoured lingering finish. Hunky Dory Sauvignon Blanc is designed for casual dining and can be enjoyed as a refreshing aperitif. It is excellent with salads, seafood (especially oysters!) or anytime a refreshing Sauvignon Blanc is called for.

 Secco Italian Bubbles

Beautiful, vibrant Rose. Alpine strawberry, black raspberry, Italian dark cherries and crushed stone. Smooth, long and sexy…these bubbles deliver!

White peach, lychee and jasmine in the aroma and on the palate. This wine is so flavorful, and at 5% alcohol, one glass is never enough!

 Beau Vignac Syrah Rose

This wine from Pays des Cotes de Thau, silky and distinguished , is characterized by a brilliant raspberry color. Cherry and violet aromas with a nice bouquet.

Intense, deep red colour with fine hints of crimson.  The nose offers pleasant aromas of red and dark fruit, with red currants, also some mint and cedar. The bouquet fills out with notes of vanilla, spices and mocha, characteristic of French oak.

This is a dense, complex wine, with good tannic structure. The lingering finesse of the tannins gives the wine good length and a pleasant, soft mouthfeel.  Deep, aromatic and complex with very appealing intense fruit. Has yet to reach its peak.
