The meet and greet with Charlie Nelson, co-founder of Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery, is coming up quick! Don’t miss it on April 27th, from 5 to 7 pm.
Yield: 1 gallon
5 cups fresh watermelon, cubed
5 ounces orange-flavored cognac liqueur
15 fresh basil leaves, shredded
8 cups (64 oz) white rum
4 cups (32 ounces) watermelon puree
3 cups (24 ounces) orange juice
1 cup (8 ounce) lime juice
Muddle the watermelon, liqueur and basil in glass until you reach a thick and slightly chunky puree consistency (watermelon puree)
Mix and stir the rum, watermelon puree, orange juice and lime juice
