Leslie’s Picks

Red – Abstract Red Wine, 92 points RP

Winemaker Notes Aromatics with gravity, the wine pulls you in with notes of blueberry, black fig, bloodied strawberry and hints of musk and rhubarb. Bold on the entry, the palate exudes rich notes of dark plum and ripe framboise with a slightly chalky texture. The wine transitions effortlessly to a finish of black cherry, sweet licorice, and some quick-drying tannins. Leslie – I love all the black fruits – black cherry, black plum, black and blueberries. One of my favorites from Dave Phinney for under $40. And…. checking online, our price is amongst the lowest in the land. About the Label – One of the main reasons to buy this wine — the label is sooooo cool! The label was inspired by a collage displayed in the living room of a designer in Milan. The winemaker spent years collecting the imagery and individually piecing the snips together. Nearly four years later, his original work of art was finally completed.

White – Yalumba Y Series Viognier 2019, 90 points WS

Winemaker Notes Bright straw in color with green hues. There are lovely aromas of orange blossom, fresh ginger, hints of honeysuckle and white flowers. The palate has fresh pineapple, Chinese white tea and dried figs leading to a creamy mid palate with a silky, textural finish. The wild fermentation and lees ageing gives the wine an extra level of complexity on the palate that belies its age. Leslie – Fragrant with orange blossom, melon and pear. In the mouth it’s full with hints of pineapple and figs. Finishes long and refreshing.

Sweet – Stone Hill Cream Sherry

Oh my gosh! The rich, nutty flavor of this cream sherry is amazing. True story, I served this as dessert with a high-end, thick cut bacon. The sweet and savory together was mesmerizing! Would also be good served with nuts or anything chocolate.

Jon’s Picks

Orin Swift Abstract Red Blend

Has bright popping aromatics of juicy raspberries, cranberries and pluots. The wine is big and massive yet incredibly smooth with a hint of sweet cream. With a luscious and velvety mouthfeel, the wine finishes with lingering ripe black plum and fades softly and slowly. Blend of Grenache, Petite Sirah and syrah from California.

Conundrum White

A soft gentle hue, this wine has a fresh, delicate nose with a trace of the tropical scents of flower blossoms mingling with orange, honeysuckle and a touch of lemon. Entry on the palate is vibrant, with flavors of mandarin orange and a lively acidity that gives this wine a serious dimension. The combination of tropical notes alongside citrus is emblematic of white grapes grown in cooler regions of California and provides a singular character. Bright acidity carries through to the long finish.

Rosa Regale

Festive cranberry in color with a haunting, aromatic bouquet with hints of raspberries, strawberries and rose petals. A fresh raspberry taste, with crisp acidity, enticing the palate with an initial softness, graduating to a round, clean and dry finish. A unique and festive sparkling wine and a seductive aperitif. Pairs well with seafood, cheeses, spicy fare and chocolate. Serve chilled.

Sarita’s Picks

Bold, but light, sweet and sublime. This mead is refreshingly different and one-of-a-kind. Bright and fresh with hints of sweet citrus.

Tiziano Pinot Grigio

A base of ripe acidity, lively and complex – lighter than previous vintages. Elegant and refreshing, this medium-bodied, fruit forward style wine offers the perfect crisp and fruity balance. Pairs well with tomato dishes.

Monica’s Picks

Troublemaker Red Blend

The Troublemaker blend is an opaque deep purple color with powerful aromas of ripe cherry, dried plum and savory sage. The palate entry is somewhat of a surprise as the finesse of black current, hints of sweet oak and espresso lead into luxuriously soft yet firm tannins that linger through the mid-palate and beyond.

Sange Di Giuda Siliqauastro

It has a deep ruby red color with violet reflections and an intense fragrance of fresh fruit and spices. On the palate it’s sweet, full-bodied and persistent. Pair it with chocolate cakes, but also with Halloween cookies.

Santa Margherita Pinot Grigio

With its straw yellow color, clean intense aroma, and dry golden apple taste, our signature Pinot Grigio is full of authentic, flavorful personality. Food Pairings: A clean, lovely aperitif to start any food occasion. It goes wonderfully with fresh cheeses, seafood, pasta, and rice dishes, as well as white meats, sushi and soufflés.
